Somatics Can Change Your Pain...

Here's what it can do for you:

• Release and reverse course on both chronic and acute pain
• Improve mobility, strength and coordination
• Improve posture and appearance
• Help you stop guarding to protect injured areas
• Create a new freedom in movement
• Breathe easier
• Become more and in control of your life

Healthy animals are agile, supple, flexible and graceful with their movements.

The practice of Somatics uses animal know-how so you can
use your brain through a little known healthy animal practice.

The Process of Pandiculation is what healthy vertebrate animals do every day.

If we Human Animals use this very process, not the stretching part, but the entire process. You can remain very comfortable in your skin.

Not much is known about this unless you are familiar with Hanna Somatic Education.

Getting out of Pain is Easy, it's no big whiff, if you correctly apply the process.

The longer term benefit is you can improve your athletics by using your brain and still remain comfortable.

How many people who are healthy and in shape are still in pain, or are re-injuring them self?

And if you're stretching, forget about it... There's a much more effective way to lengthen your muscles. Rather than stretching, you can do what your pets have been doing...

PANDICULATE!... in the morning, afternoon and ...

Move Like An Animal - Free Book Weekend

Feel Comfortable, Be Flexible, Move Well for Life in 3 Simple Steps.

Do animals with a spine know something about moving well?  Would you like to have the flexibility and agility of a big cat?  The answer is simple; pandiculate.

Move Like an Animal

The "P" word is how animals with a spine simply reset their muscles and movement system.  Fortunately, pandiculations have been at the heart of somatics exercises where we use the brain to bring our body back to comfort.

Simple, mindful movement sets us up to successfully be agile, swift, balanced and keep our vitality.

The animal secret to moving well for life relieves stiffness, tension and takes out stress and pain.

Live a pain-free active lifestyle simply by setting up the muscles and movement system in the first place.

Help Me Get to Sleep Better - Use the Brain

Waking up 60x per minute gave me the feeling of a mac truck running me over each and every morning.

Little did I know I could use the brain and create relaxation chemicals to help me drift off and sleep better. Somatics exercises target the brain's motor cortex to both relax and ready the muscles.

Often times when people practice somatics, they drift off as they get deeply relaxed. Happens all the time in the classes I teach. Once you come to, you merely rejoin in progress. Obviously the body needed a few cues via the brain to send the message.

The rest comes with mindful awareness of how we can harness the brain so we won't have to think, "help me get to sleep better". Both the brain and the body know how to do it... we can naturally remind it and it'll respond.

Can I Exercise with Pain?

When I lived with fibromyalgia, exercising in pain seemed to be the norm until I learned that movement could release painful signals.

Learning self-awareness through movement is a brain event. When we imaginatively use the brain, our pain lessens and our body moves with a freedom we used to have.

Could Central Systerm Nervous Programming Be the Most Important Part of Exercise

Is aerobics more important than strength training? Or can we use the 10 - 12 lb. bowling bowl on the top of us to help us with exercise.

Reprogramming the central nervous system is accomplished with somatics exercises so we can move do all our other movement activities freely and easily.

Help the Brain with Your Hands

Sometimes the brain and our body needs a little help from our hands.
Try the move and try the self-hands on approach to release some of the muscles of the neck.

Somatics exercises are not just about the area we target, it's about how we move as a whole being re-discovering the lost art of pandiculation to keep things fresh and more alive. Beam me up Scotty!

Un-exercise using the brain

Instead of pushing weights, jumping jacks, conditioning exercises, etc, is there something missing from the entire picture?

Could we use the brain to un-lock muscular stiffness and un-do held muscular tension?

Exercise recovery happens when we un-exercise using the brain to reset our self back to comfortable levels so we can get back out there and play again.

Somatics Exercises

Using the brain in a simple, mindful way lets us do what is called somatics exercises.

These types of exercises are really un-exercises designed to un-do muscle boundness and un-lock muscular tension and rigidity.

Using the brain with intention is far more effective than unconscious movement.
But you probably already knew that.

Change Pain in 3 Steps

Changing pain using the brain is simple.

That's if you have the know-how to make it easy.

Brain fitness, that is using the brain to make changes to the muscles, happens we when mindfully engage our movements.

We can simply change how our muscles feel and reset them with what is known as somatics exercises.

Letting Go of Tight, Stiff, Locked Muscles

When our muscles are ratcheted up and we feel that gnawing tension, it's easier said to "just let it go".

BUT... if we use the brain in a direct manner, the brain will send the message to the muscles to let go... and it'll remember with a kind reminder.

Thomas Hanna proposed the idea of sensory-motor amnesia. Our muscles in effect forget how to let go and they remain rigid or held in high states of contraction.

Using the brain and body with somatics exercises re-rights us and gets us back on track to easy, comfortable feelings in our muscles.

A daily exercise routine plan

While having an exercise routine is ideal... what do you do to set up movement in the first place?

Most of us want to jump into our exercise routine or maybe we stretch (the question is why) or we do some yoga or another warm up like patting our muscles as is practiced in chi kung (Qiqong).

All healthy vertebrate animals on the other hand, set up their movement software first and use the brain's inhibitory process.

Instead of stretching, they're readying their muscles and relaxing them so they can move with ease and agility throughout the day.

Somatics exercises uses this same healthy animal process so we self-correct and set ourself to move comfortably. Now you're ready to exercise.

Not Breathing Can Lead to Better Breathing

Somatics exercises are quite often the reverse of most approaches out there and they are oh "so too simple". We can be gain better breathing by working with the muscles which help us move.

Relax the Face, Jaw and More

A tight jaw can prevent us from having fun while running or playing or soccer.

Freeing up the face muscles can seem a bit goofy yet 1/3 of our brain is dedicated to the area around the mouth.

When we move the jaw is there any connection to hip? Try the move below.

Relaxing 1/3 of our body can be an entertaining and smart move to do. Go ahead and make a face.

You can always join us and discover how somatics exercises can free up the face, back and legs with astonishing ease in awareness.

Back again...

So it's been awhile.  Been working on recording and editing 150 Somatics Movement Classes.

The classes cover all the areas of your body.

There are classes for the entire body, the knees, the back, the shoulders, arms, your neck, the legs, feet and even your head.

Each class is anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour in length.

Once you learn the moves, you can spend just 5 - 7 minutes and take care of what ails or what you need to do to prepare yourself for things like running.

All the classes are mp3's which you can access through a private online membership.

See here for a closer look.
